LadsLads: The concept of Animal Rights is wrong?
Here is an example of the kind of discussions that take place on the gay social networking site LadsLads:
Okay so I was browsing groups on facebook, as you do
And I came across one entitled “The concept of animal rights is wrong” So I thought okay… and clicked on it
It was basically someone trying to justify animal abuse and testing by saying that we are the dominant species therefore we will use the lesser species for our own usage.
I dunno about you guys but I was outraged. I personally love all animals, big or small
Anyone who would think animal abuse is an acceptable thing must be very twisted and selfish!
What are your opinions?

A Holiday Thought…
Aren’t humans amazing Animals? They kill wildlife – birds, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice and foxes by the million in order to protect their domestic animals and their feed.
Then they kill domestic animals by the billion and eat them. This in turn kills people by the million, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative – and fatal – - health conditions like heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and cancer.
So then humans spend billions of dollars torturing and killing millions of more animals to look for cures for these diseases.
Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals.
Meanwhile, few people recognize the absurdity of humans, who kill so easily and violently, and once a year send out cards praying for “Peace on Earth.”

Someone once said that it doesn’t make us the superior species because we can dominate or kill those that are weaker than us, but because we can show mercy to those that are weaker than us. The concept of killing, period, is wrong. The act of killing another simply because we like the taste of her flesh, or how his skin looks on us, or because we think it’s fun or a good way to pass the time (recreational hunting/fishing) is appalling. We know better, so I guess the majority of us just choose to be cruel.
