Is Peter Andre thinking about Dating Cheryl Cole?
Those scurrilous tabloids have been at it again this week, desperately trying to talk up a link between the celebrity world’s two biggest singletons Peter Andre and Cheryl Cole.
The inevitable “sources close to the singer” claimed that Andre, 36, was bombarding Cole with messages of support following her break-up with her husband, Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole.
The star broke his silence today to decry the claims as being “rubbish” saying:
“It’s the first I’ve heard of it! This story really made me laugh as it’s totally made up.”
As we’ve seen over recent weeks, the press are desperate to fill their pages with suggestions of dating between famous people. It is this level of frenzy and speculation that forced Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to decide to keep their own, very real, relationship under wraps
The troubles facing any two people dating are manifest enough as it is. Overcoming first date nerves, potential clashes of personality, choosing a suitable place for a first date – all of these things apply just as much to celebrities as they do to you or I. Not only that, but they must undergo those worries knowing that a camera bulb might flash from the bushes at any second and destroy any chance of privacy they might have hoped for.
So even if Peter Andre does fancy Cheryl Cole (and we certainly wouldn’t blame him, given her delectable beauty and native Geordie charm!) he’d be foolish to publically say so. The media feeding frenzy would be so great that it would be almost impossible for them to function as a couple – particularly critical as Andre is currently embroiled in a custody battle with Katie Price over their children.
So while you might envy the famous for their looks, money, fame and influence, it is worth remembering that all that comes at a terrible price to their personal and social life. They could scarcely hope to put a personal ad on a website or join an online dating site like Dating Direct – they’d be sure to run across some blabbermouth who’d be on the phone to the tabloids within seconds. Instead, they have to live their life in an intense bowl of intrusion that we mortal folk can barely imagine.
So best wishes to both Cheryl and Peter – and best of luck whether they are dating or not. We can’t help but feel they’ll need it.
